Predicament

83 stitches remain on the needle.

12 inches of yarn remain.

I should be in tears but I saw this coming.
I frogged my my swatch just before the center stitch and tied it on. But that wasn't enough. I'll go to the knitting cafe tonight and see what Stephanie has that might be close to the hand dyed that I've been using.

KAL button

Not sure if this is going to work - but here's the Knit A Long button.

Yesterday I knitted the last row of the edging. Now the bind off is all that remains. I weighed the yarn ball and I have a whopping two grams remaining. It's supposed to be a loose bind off. Hope two grams is enough for a loose bind off.
It'll be great to get this project off the needles.

Torture

I'm in the middle of Chart 4 of Icarus. My eyes are shot from squinting at the fine lace. I've decided to buy a cheap pair of reading glasses to finish this shawl. I've - almost - sworn off ever doing this fine of lace again. One shawl is enough right?

Then I was reading the Harlot's blog and followed the link to MimKnits. Miriam has designed a pattern called Hidcote Garden Shawl. I'm a lavender farmer and was harvesting Hidcote this morning. I can't imagine the shawl in any color other than the deep hue of purple that our plants produce. I may have to torture my eyes a bit more. Maybe one shawl isn't enough.
